Kathryn has a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Tasmania. Following graduation, Kathryn left for the mainland to undertake Articles of Clerkship in Melbourne and was admitted to practise in Victoria in 1994. She then travelled North, working in banking in New South Wales and law firms in Queensland.
Kathryn worked exclusively in insurance, worker’s compensation, motor vehicle accidents and public liability claims in North Queensland for 27 years. She has acted for clients who have been injured as well as for insurers and clients who have had personal injury claims made against them.
In 2001, Kathryn obtained Specialist Accreditation in Personal Injuries Law in Queensland. She was a member of the Queensland Law Society Specialist Accreditation Advisory Committee from 2015 until 2023.
Kathryn is a Past President and Life Member of the Townsville District Law Association. She has been recognised in the Women Lawyers’ Association of Queensland Inspiration list.
Kathryn returned to Tasmania in February 2025 and joined TFR as a Special Counsel in the Civil Litigation team.
