Owen graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2020 with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree. In 2021, he completed his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice before being admitted to the Supreme Court of Tasmania in the same year.
Prior to admission, Owen gained experience working as a graduate lawyer in personal injury. Owen is a member of our Estates and Litigation teams and now focuses primarily on estate disputes, civil litigation and estate planning. He works closely with Zac Nicholson and Bridget Rheinberger to advise in a range of estate matters, and with Renee Spencer and Geoff Tremayne in civil litigation matters. He also advises clients in relation to Guardianship and Administration Board applications and hearings.
Owen has recently accepted a role working one day per week as a Duty Lawyer at the Magistrates Court. This will allow people who would otherwise be unrepresented to receive some legal advice before being represented. Owen strongly believes in access to justice for all and this role puts that belief into action.
