Zac practices almost exclusively in the area of Wills and Estates and over the past 10 years has had a particular focus on Estate and Trust disputes. He acts for a wide range of clients including private clients, charitable organisations and trust companies in a variety of litigious matters including family provision claims, testamentary capacity disputes and various applications to the Supreme Court such as those for construction of a Will and seeking probate in solemn form of an informal Will. Zac also practices in complex Estate Planning and regularly provides advice on strategies for minimising the risk of a successful challenge to Wills. He provides advice on Estate Administration and assists with Guardianship and Administration Board Applications.
Zac has a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Tasmania. He currently lectures in Estate Disputes at the Tasmanian Legal Practice Course (UTAS) and also regularly delivers seminars to various other professional bodies.
Zac was named in both the 2020 and 2021 editions of “Doyles Guide” as a leading lawyer in the Wills and Estates Litigation, Disputes and Contested matter category. Zac is a previous member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and the Elder Law and Succession Committee of the Law Society of Tasmania.
